Miscellany

  • About Me

My name is Steve Bogner, a 40-something husband and father of two boys in Cincinnati, OH. Extremism - whether conservative or liberal or whatever - is something I try to avoid. The world isn't perfect, the truth is usually in the middle, and things are rarely as simple as they seem.

  • About My Blog

This is a moderate, Jesuit-flavored Catholic blog. I'll write about Catholicism, holiness and spirituality along with a bit of politics, social justice and Catholic mystics. I'm not an expert in any of these, but if you like reading about them, then this is a place to do that.

As usual Steve, I'm sure that you'll forgive me for again adding my Canadian two cents worth. I've heard that our dollar is really starting to slide but we'll call it two cents worth just the same. Below is an email that might be of interest to some of your readers. :)

God Bless,

Peace.

For your information,

In a letter sent to Canada's Prime Minister, Mr. Stephen Harper, the President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, Archbishop V. James Weisgerber, has asked on behalf of all the Bishops of Canada that the Government of India be encouraged to end the anti-Christian violence in the country. The Bishops also asked Prime Minister Harper to verify that Canadian funds are not being sent to support groups responsible for the violence.

I knew that Cincinnati badly needed a new bishop when I had the opportunity, one day, to visit Austin TX. I looked at the Austin diocese newspaper and actually was surprised that it was interesting and made Catholics aware of their responsibilities and duties. Never had that feeling when I read the Cincinnati diocese paper. Won't tell you how I felt except that it made me sick and sad.

Buy the Way! Is there a subliminal message in there my friend?

I hear ya! Leave him alone sinner vic cause he's entitled to his opinion!

Victor will you ever learn? :)

Peace
