  • About Me

My name is Steve Bogner, a 40-something husband and father of two boys in Cincinnati, OH. Extremism - whether conservative or liberal or whatever - is something I try to avoid. The world isn't perfect, the truth is usually in the middle, and things are rarely as simple as they seem.

  • About My Blog

This is a moderate, Jesuit-flavored Catholic blog. I'll write about Catholicism, holiness and spirituality along with a bit of politics, social justice and Catholic mystics. I'm not an expert in any of these, but if you like reading about them, then this is a place to do that.

Happy New Year

Just a quick post to wish everyone a happy new year 2008!

Every new year's day I look back on the previous year and think 'wow, what a year!'. And then I wonder, what will this next one bring me? Surely, amid the predictable it will bring things I don't expect.

May His blessings continue to fall upon you and yours, Steve...

May your eyes be open to see those unpredictable movements in your life

Hi Steve.

Happy New Year to you and all those who read this Blog.

Our Community of Faith has a tough start for 2008. I have just come from the funeral of a 21 years of age young woman. As I met with her parents over the last few days, and knowing the day that was ahead. I wondered. A young woman out in the open air, kyaking and enjoying living a full life of joy and happiness. Then a freak accident and we are left wondering!!! How can we meet the new year with faith, hope and trust? And the answer came from the space where God is, "I am with you!" In a strange and wonderful way that is the message I carry into the New Year for myself and those I meet, God promises through it all, "I am with you". This is going to be the best year yet for experiencing the Love of God. Keep safe!

Happy New Year and a belated Merry and Blessed Christmas. I enjoy reading your blog and I appreciate your comments. I've been a busy fellow and don't stop to leave a note often enough. Peace. :-) Don

I've been out to visit family and now that I'm back I would like to wish you and your readers the best that the year 2008 has to bring. Of course when you read your black box you'll probably also find a surprise from late 2007.

May God Bless 2008 and may He keep a special light shining on all His Children.
