  • About Me

My name is Steve Bogner, a 40-something husband and father of two boys in Cincinnati, OH. Extremism - whether conservative or liberal or whatever - is something I try to avoid. The world isn't perfect, the truth is usually in the middle, and things are rarely as simple as they seem.

  • About My Blog

This is a moderate, Jesuit-flavored Catholic blog. I'll write about Catholicism, holiness and spirituality along with a bit of politics, social justice and Catholic mystics. I'm not an expert in any of these, but if you like reading about them, then this is a place to do that.

Coming together

There are just under 30 people signed up for the online retreat that started this week. Wow... I'm pleasantly surprised! I got quite a few messages from folks who had been wanting to, or had tried to take this retreat but felt they needed some group support to make it work. They were just waiting for the opportunity. It's just great how these things come together.

This is great, Steve. Again, another example of the power of the Internet--even for spiritual matters.

Steve......got a link for you to check out.

Thanks for the link Jim. My parish just started a Just Faith program; the core-team just finished their training, so I expect they will be rolling more out to the rest of us soon.

I am praying that this works for you all.

It is a little coindicidental that am staring a very similar retreat at the same time, but I am fortunate to have a small group of people in the flesh, that is, in the same room with me to faith share. The Internet is good, but it does not always replace an actual person being there to hold your hand, give a hug in understanding, or just to give subtle, subconsciencous body lanuage clues of support.

We all long for Christ in the flesh as much as we do in the spirit. I pray that God will transform you all into what He wants you to be through this experience.

Be patience and persevere.
