  • About Me

My name is Steve Bogner, a 40-something husband and father of two boys in Cincinnati, OH. Extremism - whether conservative or liberal or whatever - is something I try to avoid. The world isn't perfect, the truth is usually in the middle, and things are rarely as simple as they seem.

  • About My Blog

This is a moderate, Jesuit-flavored Catholic blog. I'll write about Catholicism, holiness and spirituality along with a bit of politics, social justice and Catholic mystics. I'm not an expert in any of these, but if you like reading about them, then this is a place to do that.

Almost open

It is starting to warm up here in Cincinnati! The first sure sign is when the crocus bulbs pop up. Once the ground thaws these little guys pop up - even through the snow. When the sun shines bright enough, the flowers will open. I was hoping we would have enough sun today for this one to open - but it didn't happen. Too cold, not enough sun.

Just like the crocus needs a little more sun to open up its petals, I feel like I need a little extra spiritual energy to fully open up. There's a desire, and there's also something that works against it - fear, I suppose.

Nah, Steve--it's just inertia--like the crocuses, like the bears who have been hibernating. Your spiritual jolt will come shortly--I guarantee it.
