My name is Steve Bogner, a 40-something husband and father of two boys in Cincinnati, OH. Extremism - whether conservative or liberal or whatever - is something I try to avoid. The world isn't perfect, the truth is usually in the middle, and things are rarely as simple as they seem.

This is a moderate, Jesuit-flavored Catholic blog. I'll write about Catholicism, holiness and spirituality along with a bit of politics, social justice and Catholic mystics. I'm not an expert in any of these, but if you like reading about them, then this is a place to do that.

2. What is your least favorite word? A tie: normally, and hate

3. What turns you on (inspires you)? My family, and nature in general

4. What turns you off? Intolerance and puffery

5. What sound do you love? Waves on the beach, birds singing, and silence

6. What sound do you hate? Slamming a door

7. What is your favorite curse word? Sh*t! Used very seldom; promise

8.What profession other than yours would you like to attempt? Writer & speaker

9. What profession would you not like to participate in? Lawyer – I admire them and they are my friends, but it’s not for me

10. Presupposing that Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? Welcome!

Referenced your post on "recovering its moral voice" in my latest, Steve. Don't know if it says it as I feel it, however. Too hard sometimes to get it all "across" in a few paragraphs. Still enjoying the read here and appreciate the exchange......
